I’m not going to lie to you, this smoothie is absolutely hideous, yet oh-so-delicious. It will also give you that energy boost you need sans coffee! I am doing a detox with Nick this week – so I plan on adding more smoothie recipes to the collection. Enjoy!!
Rise and Shine Detox Smoothie (V)(GF)
the ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp flax seed, ground
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup spinach
- 1 tbsp almond butter/peanut butter (I used peanut butter in Nick’s since he has an almond allergy)
- 2 tsp lemon juice
the method:
Blend. Sip. Repeat.
I’d be inclined to add more greens to this. 1/4 cup spinach does not seem like a lot to me. The chlorophyll will help with the detox too.
I was thinking the same thing Sandy! However, the other smoothies in the detox plans are full of greens – I will post those smoothies recipes later this week 🙂
Thanks for your comment!! xoxo
A lovely power smoothy that I also love,…MMMM!
It does look rather unappetizing, but I can see where it must taste good!
Do you think kids would like this? I’m interested in trying some gluten free, caesin free smoothies!
Yes I do! It doesn’t look very pretty, but it reminded me of a peanut butter milkshake 🙂
Good “stuff”.. i drink these types of smoothies everyday. Flax is an awesome and full of great energy. I often use non GMO almond milk and throw in some greens and or Wheat Grass powder. A huge benefit is to get a wide range of color in what you add. It equals a wide range of nutrients. Great suggestion!
